"IN THE BALANCE" EQUALITY, FREEDOM & JUSTICE MURAL FOR FLORIDA NEW MAJORITY, NORTH MIAMI

A few Artists were given the words Equality, Freedom and Justice and I decided to make a bold statement with it.  Symbolism is the Puritan's hand with the Original and ONLY NATIVE American's eagle's wings of Freedom.  The hand is playing with the usual balance of Justice to benefit their cause and self-made ideologies.  The only part of this world and country we have yet to learn how to balance, and Equality.  Under all of this is the constant labyrinth of REAL change.

"ART BEAT LITTLE HAITI MURAL PROJECT" CURATED BY YO MIAMI

Several organizations, Little Haiti Businesses and Artists from all over the world came together to make this happen.  A few Artists were assigned specific buildings based on what their style would fit.  The amazingly talented and world renown Andrew Reid painted one of signature graphic patterns on the whole building of a local Boxing-Fitness gym.  To add a little touch to it, I designed a "hand-wrapping ritual" piece to it.  Any fighter knows, this is the final phase of your training camp.  After these fists are wrapped, taped and signed...it's showtime!

"ART IS..." GROUP EXHIBIT, FORT LAUDERDALE

Had the pleasure of being a part of a very talented group show at 1310 Gallery near Downtown Ft. Lauderdale.  From a previous Exhibit, I was invited to display my colorful Aquatic Series.  What began with just a few pieces, ended up taking up 1/2 of the entire Gallery Floor.  Great turnout, wonderful responses and Sales and Future Prospects even made the night even sweeter!  Had a few local talent join us and was stoked with the continued support of my community.

"WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS" CURATED BY WYN 317 AND THE TALENTED REGISTERED ARTIST

Great way for Local Artists to collaborate with each other.  I wish there were more of these circulating.  Registered Artist is known for his elaborate Stencil Street Art themes.  I designed a reclaimed wood piece and hand-painted my Koi, in which I provided him with my aspect, he then added his stencil version of lotus.  Throughout the Event, we both kept on being approached with the same comment "this is by far the best piece in the show, we just love it...the colors, the rustic wood, the intricate lotus!"  That's always an added bonus.....

"A SWING THING" CURATED BY MARCUS BLAKE & TSL, WYNWOOD

I really loved the concept of this charity/Live painting Event.  The talented Marcus Blake had the concept of having Local Talent design and Live Paint these pre-cut wood swing seats.  Each Artist was given creative freedom to do whatever inspired them.  Each swing was being installed in inner-city neighborhoods as a symbol of Unity and beautifying/uniting a less desirable area.  Who doesn't love a chill time on a swing?

"ANALOG ART 2" CURATED BY YO MIAMI, LITTLE HAITI

The theme was to take vinyl records and customize whatever you wanted to.  My initial focal point piece was a Tribute piece to some of my top Hip-Hop Artists in my personal archives.  I wanted to have the piece look like a primitive turntable, with BC styled-needle and flame, also look like an album cover with symbolism of Yo! MTV Raps, the top Hip-Hop Artists of all time  inside, and carved "HIP-HOP" in the cover.  To make up the "YO! MTV" logo, is did a similar shot out (similar to the way artists depicted their Thanks inside each album cover).  This is what it said:
"The 80's & 90's would like to thank a Higher Power for giving these humans the gift of music, beatz + rhymes.  Thx to the parents + dead beatz who inspired talent to write + rhyme + experiment while channeling their losses + gains.  Thx to the radios, record players, 8-trks, stereos, boomboxes + DJs for pumping the Classics of Funk, R & B, Jazz + Rock to inspire the sampling that gave the continuous rebirth to the younger generations.  As Slim Kid would say, "to all that saw me get beat, who saw me walkin' the street, who saw my yellow-ass teeth, even the ones who had beef.  Fuck, best of luck to this crazy-assed, fucked up industry.  Who won't remember me when I fall the fuck off.  So, now I'll just get my buck off...."  Special thanks to the baddest Pioneers of the Game.  Each hold a class of their own + a special place in our eardrums. (In no particular Order):  A Tribe Called Quest, Black Sheep, Del the Funky Homosapien, Gangstarr, Eric B + Rakim, Geto Boys, N.W.A., De La Soul, The Pharcyde, EPMD, Snoop Dogg, Biggy, 2Pac, Kanye, Wu-Tang, RUN DMC, Slick Rick, Mos Def, Eminem, LL Cool J, 2 Live Crew, Cypress Hill, BDP, Ice-T, Salt -N- Pepa, Outkast, Naughty by Nature, Grand Master Flash + the Furious 5, Public Enemy, MC Lyte, Queen Latifah, Big Daddy Kane, Heavy D, Hammer, Too Short, Ice Cube, DJ Quik, Fugees, Vanilla Ice, Jay Z, 3rd Base, Young MC, Whodini, Tone Loc, Stetasonic, Souls of Mischief, Poor Righteous Teachers, Leaders of a New School, The Roots, Afrika Bambataa, Redman, Poison Clan, Onyx, K-OS, House of Pain, Fuschnickens, Beastie Boys, Digable Planets
